Iranians mark Commemoration Day of Sa’adi

Iranians observe the Commemoration Day of Sa’adi Shirazi, a world-famous Persian poet and writer.

The Commemoration Day of Sa’adi is observed on the first day of Ordibehesht, the second month on the Persian calendar, which falls on Friday this year.

Sa'adi, who lived in the 13th century is renowned as the "king of speech" and the "master of literature."

In Iran's city of Shiraz, people paid tribute to him by laying flowers on his tomb during commemoration ceremonies.
